Dexamethasone

Dexamethasone is a glucocorticoid medication.

Dexamethasone belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It is used to control inflammation. It may also be used to reduce the risk of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy. Dexamethasone is used for the treatment of symptomatic multiple myeloma, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in combination with other medicinal products. Dexamethasone is on the WHO’s list of essential medicines. Dexamethasone is authorized for use in the EU (dexamethasone SmPC).
